Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead
Hello! I am a Canadian occupational therapist who has recently moved to Australia with my partner. We had dreamed of coming here for years to escape the cold and to fulfill our sense of adventure (despite everyone’s warnings that I would die from the bugs, snakes, sharks, you name it). Many people ask why we chose Adelaide over other cities, and it is largely because of our desire to live in a smaller town that has it all – beaches, wineries, restaurants, great weather – and since my partner works in the wine industry, we couldn’t have chosen a better place.
A bit about my education and OT background: I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2016, followed by a masters degree in occupational therapy from McGill University in 2019. I have worked as an OT in Canada since 2020, and over my career I’ve discovered how fun and fulfilling it is to work with children and their families. I thrive in a working environment where me and my team can have fun together and learn from one another. My approach is fundamentally neurodiversity-affirming, as most of my experience comes from working with neurodivergent children and youth.
Outside of work, I dabble in a variety of activities and love trying new things! My hobbies range from adventurous (hiking, paddleboarding, attempting to surf, attending concerts, wine tasting), to introverted (reading, crocheting, watching movies). I’m thrilled to be part of the Therabees/Adelaide Active team, and look forward to getting to know you all soon!
